Phew' the holidays are over! Now what!?
If you’re anything like me you love the holidays and being able to get together with family and friends and celebrate. If you’re also like me and feel and overwhelming sense of expectation, anxiety and stress during this time.. you’re not alone!
Since having my daughter I have felt more pressure than ever during the holidays! I want each and every year to be more special than the next, even if she wont remember these first few. Starting and finding new traditions to keep it fun for everyone. But, this year I couldn't help shake the pressure.
The pressure to get her all the gifts, the anxiety of the financial burden the holidays bring, the stress of making everything perfect and just right. I know I'm not the only one this "holiday blues" hits. We have all been through ALOT these past few years, especially with the pandemic and we know that has played a huge part in everything we do! The worry of getting family together and looming fear of COVID.
The holidays are over so now what?
Watching my daughter rip through the wrapping paper and spending time with my loved ones significantly made me feel better. A little weight lifted seeing smiling and excited faces. Once I removed the pressure of everything, did a little self care, and really sat down with myself and my feelings I knew it was going to be ok. You are going to be ok.
